How long is the program?

Cosmetology 1550 is a Minnesota required curriculum that takes approximately 12 months to complete.
Nail Technician 350 is a Minnesota required curriculum that takes approximately 11 weeks to complete. 
Cosmetology 2100 is an out-of-state required curriculum that takes approximately 16 months to complete.
Nail Technician 400 is a Minnesota required curriculum that takes approximately 13 weeks to complete.

**Students can enroll in any program based on the state in which they desire to receive a license.

What is a typical weekly schedule?

Monday - closed
Tuesday  8:00am - 4:30pm
Wednesday  9:30am - 8:00pm
Thursday  8:00am - 4:30pm
Friday  8:00am - 4:30pm

**No weekends and no Holidays.  We give our students a Christmas break and a one week summer break!

What will I be doing during my time at Avalon?

• Essentials
  In this basic, pre-clinical phase, students will focus on learning the underlying theory along with the basic skills required for performing client services.  The education is provided through interactive lecture, demonstration, technology, and hands-on practice.
• Pilgrimage
  During this vital second phase, students will journey toward Paragon while developing and customizing their skills to meet the needs of the clients.  They will perform skills on the clinic floor gaining self-confidence and perfecting their communication, consultation, and technical skills.  The education is provided through interactive lecture, demonstration, technology, field trips, guest speakers, and hands-on practice.
• Paragon
  In this final phase, students will master the creative skills necessary for achieving excellence and success in the workplace while learning key business skills needed to be a successful professional.  In addition, students will focus on state board preparation, professional development, and career placement.  This should prepare students for immediate success and will dramatically improve their opportunities for employment upon graduation.
